Hi all. Newbie here, and my first post on here. Sorry for it being such a fundamental query, but I have no idea what I'm doing.?
My 14 year old daughter, bless her, got me an indoor Bonsai for my birthday. Now, I usually kill any plant in our house within a few weeks. But 2 years later, the Bonsai is mircaculously alive!!! However, It doesn't look great (or maybe it does, lets see what you experts think). It lives on a kitchen window sill, in plenty of light but away from direct sunlight. Its watered most days whenever the soil doesn't feel moist. Its just growing upwards very quickly and is a bit of a bean pole. Its WAY taller than it is wide. I'm guessing it needs pruning somehow, but I have no idea where to start. Help, please!!!! thanks muchly in advance!!!!

It looks as if there is very little soil in the pot and this plant has been neglected for some time. You need to re pot first and prune the top to about half and the branch to the right also by about half. When re potting it needs to be straightened up as it is falling out of the pot right now. I would also fare better if it was outside in the summer once there is no danger of frost, as it is a non hardy plant.
